About this opportunity
The State of Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Division of Purchases, is requesting quotations for truck caps on behalf of Central Fleet Management, with quotations due May 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time through the State's Advantage Vendor Self Service e-procurement system. Maine businesses submitting equivalent specifications may receive consideration if their costs are within 5 percent of the lowest bid from non-Maine businesses.
The procurement covers eight truck cap units across six specifications: two fiberglass caps for 2016 GMC Sierra 4WD double cabs (short bed, white, cab-high); one fiberglass cap for a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 double cab (6–7' bed, black); one lightweight aluminum cap (white, cab-high); one fiberglass cap for a 2017 GMC Sierra K1500 double cab (6.5' bed, white, Maxi High wedge-style with external Vanguard racks); two lightweight aluminum caps for 2016 GMC Sierra 4WD double cabs (short bed, white, cab-high); and one lightweight aluminum cap (black, cab-high). All caps must include sliding side windows with screens, standard front windows, radius corners, reinforced roofs, clear glass with black window beading, 360-degree visibility windows, recessed third brake lights, gas props, aluminum hold-down clamps, interior lighting where specified, and window t-handles with weather covers. Scotch-Lok style connectors are absolutely prohibited. Vendor installation is required at the vendor's location; vendors must provide vehicle pickup and delivery to and from Central Fleet Management in Augusta. All quotations must be FOB-Destination and include shipping and handling; state tax exemptions apply, and bids must exclude federal, state, and local taxes.
The State will award either fiberglass or aluminum caps for paired specifications, selecting whichever provides best value. The anticipated contract includes an initial performance period with two optional one-year renewal periods contingent on funding and satisfactory performance. Bids must remain valid for 180 days. Bidders must provide debarment and non-collusion certifications and indicate willingness to extend pricing to Maine municipalities, political subdivisions, and school districts. Payment is anticipated net 30 upon receipt of accurate invoices.
