About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotes for a 2012 side-by-side utility all-terrain vehicle (UATV) with quotes due August 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. local time.

The vehicle specification is a 4-stroke, twin-cylinder, 760cc liquid-cooled model with electronic fuel injection, dual A-arm front and rear suspensions, hydraulic disc brakes with dual-bore calipers, automatic CVT transmission with H/L/N/R modes, and on-demand true AWD/2WD capability with VersaTrac turf mode. The UATV must accommodate three persons, feature a 108-inch wheelbase, 11.5-inch ground clearance with 9.6-inch front and 9-inch rear suspension travel, dry weight of 1,495 pounds, 9-gallon fuel capacity, 1,000-pound rear storage box capacity, and 2,000-pound towing capacity. Tire specifications call for 26 x 9-12 PXT front and 26 x 11-12 PXT rear tires. Standard instrumentation includes digital speedometer, tachometer, and odometer. Available colors are Solar Red and Sage Green.

All quotes must be submitted electronically. Supporting documents and literature may be submitted via fax or mail prior to bid opening. Bidders may propose alternate commodities if they provide complete identification and descriptive literature; omitting such documentation constitutes agreement to furnish the vehicle as specified. The State reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities and technicalities, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%, and award on an item-by-item or group basis. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best overall value, with consideration given to quality, conformity to specifications, purpose, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Unit prices should include all applicable discounts and prepaid transportation charges unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts of 20 days or longer will be considered in award; discounts under 20 days will not. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State sales and use taxes and expects quotes to exclude them.
