About this opportunity
Fairfax County, Virginia is seeking proposals for a comprehensive Juvenile Detention Resident Information System (JDRIS) through a competitive negotiation Request for Proposal (RFP). The procurement seeks a software system and related services to replace the current juvenile detention resident management technology, with key objectives including ongoing maintenance, support services, periodic updates, and system upgrades to ensure continued functionality and compliance with operational needs and applicable standards. The contract term will commence upon execution and include an initial installation and implementation period, followed by a three-year maintenance and support period with two potential one-year renewal options. The solicitation requires vendors to provide a robust software solution capable of managing resident information for the county's juvenile detention operations, with specific emphasis on system adaptability, technical support, and long-term scalability. The proposal is officially posted on February 7, 2025, with responses due by March 7, 2025, giving potential vendors approximately one month to prepare and submit comprehensive technical and operational proposals.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the procurement appears to be an open competitive solicitation for technology vendors specializing in justice system information management software. The contract suggests potential integration requirements with existing county technological infrastructure, though specific technical compatibility details are not provided. The procurement does not specify a precise budget range or award value, but implies a substantial multi-year technology investment covering software licensing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance services. Vendors will likely need demonstrated experience in developing specialized information systems for juvenile detention environments, with capabilities to support complex data management, reporting, and compliance tracking. The potential contract structure allows for future extensions beyond the initial three-year term, subject to mutual agreement on pricing and service terms, which indicates the county's interest in establishing a long-term technological partnership with the selected vendor.
