About this opportunity
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Office of Attorney General, Criminal Law Division (OAG-CLD) is issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to procure 228 units of FDA-approved Naloxone in the 4mg NARCAN Nasal Spray device (NDC #69547-353-02). This procurement is specifically targeted for distribution to approved OAG-CLD Agents through an existing agreement with an EMS company. The Naloxone will be prescribed by a DEA-licensed doctor using a standing prescription order, indicating a targeted approach to addressing potential opioid overdose scenarios. The solicitation covers Dauphin County and specifically the Lemont Furnace Census Designated Place (CDP), with a bid posting date of May 4, 2016, and a response deadline of May 11, 2016. Key objectives include ensuring rapid access to opioid overdose reversal medication for authorized agents, with the primary deliverable being the precise quantity of NARCAN Nasal Spray units meeting specific FDA and NDC requirements.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations were explicitly detailed in the provided documentation. The procurement appears open to qualified vendors capable of supplying the exact NARCAN Nasal Spray specification. While the exact budget range is not specified, the procurement involves 228 units of the medication. The solicitation references supplementary documentation including a Bidding Guide for the Pennsylvania Supplier Portal and specifications document, which would provide additional details on submission requirements. The contract appears to be a direct procurement through the Office of Attorney General's Criminal Law Division, with the primary goal of equipping agents with emergency overdose intervention capabilities. Additional context suggests this is part of a broader strategy to address opioid-related emergencies through strategic medication distribution.
