The District of Columbia is seeking to procure 12 Police Segway Human Transporters equipped with a Light and Siren Package, as indicated by the contract opportunity posted on February 26, 2010. This procurement appears to be for the District of Columbia's police department, targeting specialized mobile transportation equipment for law enforcement personnel. The Segway Human Transporters are specifically designed for police mobility, featuring integrated light and siren capabilities that enhance officer movement and response effectiveness in urban environments. While the contract details are limited, the procurement seems focused on acquiring a standardized fleet of mobile transport devices to support police operational needs. The original posting indicates a due date of December 30, 1899, which appears to be an administrative error and likely does not reflect the actual submission deadline.

The contract opportunity documentation does not explicitly outline set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or specific vendor restrictions. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the available information. Similarly, the potential award value or budget range is not specified in the provided contract details. The procurement appears to be a straightforward equipment acquisition for the District of Columbia's police department, targeting a specific number of specialized mobile transportation units. Potential vendors would need to demonstrate capability to provide 12 police-configured Segway Human Transporters that meet the specified light and siren package requirements. Interested suppliers would likely need to provide detailed technical specifications, pricing, delivery timelines, and compliance with municipal procurement regulations.
