About this opportunity

The North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI) has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to solicit competitive sealed bids for the supply and delivery of thirty (30) temperature display tripods. These tripod display units will be used by Safe Kids Coalitions across North Carolina, including in Wake County and Teachey Town, to provide education and awareness on the dangers of leaving children unattended in hot cars. The IFB specifies detailed technical requirements for the tripod displays, including features, dimensions, and a reference model. Bidders must provide pricing on a per unit basis, with the total extended price calculated. Bids are due on September 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM ET, and the contract will be awarded to the responsive bidder offering the lowest price that meets the stated specifications. Delivery of the tripod displays is required within 30 calendar days after receipt of a purchase order.

The state encourages participation from Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) and requires vendors to disclose any use of subcontractors or suppliers located outside the United States. The contract will be awarded to a single vendor, but the state reserves the right to make separate awards or cancel the IFB. The IFB does not specify an incumbent vendor or provide a budget range, but the total value of the contract will depend on the number of units procured and the awarded price per unit.

Opportunity text

The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to seek competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors to establish an Agency Contract to furnish and deliver thirty (30) temperature display tripods. The Safe Kids "Never Leave Your Child Alone" Hyperthermia Temperature display unit is used to provide Safe Kids education and awareness to the public. The temperature display is used at events to demonstrate how hot the inside of a car can become in relation to the temperature outside and why it's important to never leave your child or pet alone in a car. The displays will be located regionally, across NC, for Safe Kids Coalitions to have better access to one of these for their summer public awareness events. Offers shall be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions of this IFB and any addenda issued hereto.
