About this opportunity

The Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids for a one-year contract to supply hydraulic stems, hose, and assemblies with quotes due May 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time.

Delivery must be made to approximately 100 Maine Department of Transportation facilities distributed across the state from York to Madawaska, with all transportation charges included in the bid price. The State requires vendors to submit current catalogs and completed spreadsheets indicating net pricing for acceptable manufacturers; pricing must be held firm for the contract duration. Bidders must accept the State of Maine Procurement Card as payment and extend quoted pricing to political subdivisions and school districts in Maine. The contractor must maintain full-time field service personnel, supply fresh stock only, and allow credit for obsolete inventory purchased under the contract.

The estimated contract value is $50,000, though the State makes no minimum purchase guarantee and will pay only for quantities actually ordered. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value, considering quality, conformity to specifications, delivery date, and overall economy. The State reserves the right to award on a per-item basis or as a group, whichever serves its best interest, and may increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10% unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from Federal taxes and Maine state sales and use taxes; bidders must quote accordingly.

Delivery orders under $5,000 will be emailed directly to the vendor; larger orders will be routed through the Division of Purchases for approval. Invoicing should be submitted electronically in PDF format when possible. The State reserves the right to cancel the contract with 30 days' written notice or immediately for non-compliance. The contract may be extended at the discretion of the State Director of Purchases with contractor consent.
