About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Transportation, through the State of Maine Division of Purchases, is requesting bids for a one-year contract supplying hydraulic stems, hose, and assemblies, with bids due April 21, 2010. The estimated contract value is $50,000, though actual purchases vary based on agency needs.
The scope encompasses hydraulic fittings, adapters, couplings, elbows, unions, connectors, plugs, caps, bushings, nipples, and tees in sizes ranging from 1/8 inch to 1 1/4 inch in both metric and standard measurements. Products from manufacturers including Fairview, Brennan, Parker, and Aeroquip are specified. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each line item using prescribed spreadsheet forms, with the option to quote multiple manufacturers by reproducing separate spreadsheets. Bidders must clearly identify the manufacturer for each quoted item and may not rearrange the parts-list order, though additional items may be added at the end. Current catalogs in electronic format are required.
Delivery is required to approximately 100 MaineDOT facilities statewide, from York to Madawaska. Pricing must be F.O.B. Destination and include all transportation charges. Prices must remain firm for the contract duration. The state makes no minimum order guarantees. Contractors must employ full-time field service personnel, provide fresh stock only, and allow credit for obsolete inventory purchased during the contract period.
The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids, increase or decrease order quantities by up to 10 percent, and award to the lowest responsible bidder or as separate line items based on best value. When price, quality, and availability are equal, the state may award to in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured products. Cash discounts less than 20 days will not be considered in award determinations. The state accepts payment via purchase order and state Procurement Card with no additional surcharges. The contractor's willingness to extend contract pricing to Maine political subdivisions and school districts will be considered in award.
