About this opportunity
The State of Maine's Division of Purchases is soliciting bids for a one-year contract to supply handheld fire extinguishers for vehicles, with bids due September 18, 2008.
Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item unless otherwise specified and use prescribed forms with electronic submission to the Division of Purchases office in Augusta prior to the closing date and time. Bids received after closing will not be considered. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder on the basis of best value to the State, considering service and supply quality, specification conformance, delivery date, and ultimate cost. In cases of tie bids, preference will be given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.
All transportation charges, including freight and express costs, must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes, and bidders should quote prices accordingly. Cash discounts must be specified by bidders; discounts under 20 days will not be considered in contract award determinations. The Division reserves the right to increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10% unless otherwise stated in the bid document. All deliveries must comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including the Maine Chemical Substance Identification Law, which requires material safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals.
