About this opportunity

Lenoir County is seeking bids for the North Lenoir HS Pump Station and Force Main project, a significant infrastructure development involving extensive wastewater system construction. The project encompasses the installation of 28,990 linear feet of 6-inch force main, 510 linear feet of 6-inch force main with 12-inch steel encasement, eight horizontal directional drills totaling 1,760 linear feet, and 140 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer. Additional key components include twelve air release manholes with valves, eighteen 6-inch plug valves and boxes, two new 4-foot diameter manholes, a new 180 GPM lift station, and decommissioning an existing wastewater treatment plant. Prospective bidders must be licensed to perform work in North Carolina and provide bid security of 5% of the total bid amount. Sealed bids will be received at the Lenoir County Manager's Office until May 16th, 2025, at 2:00 pm local time, with a public bid opening immediately following. Bidding documents can be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $400.00, which includes electronic and printed access, and all official notifications and addenda will be distributed through the designated bidding website.

The procurement opportunity emphasizes equal opportunity and encourages participation from small, minority, and female contractors. While no specific set-aside percentages are mentioned, the county demonstrates a commitment to inclusive bidding practices and does not discriminate based on handicapped status. The project does not indicate any existing incumbent vendors or specify precise budget ranges, though the comprehensive nature of the infrastructure work suggests a significant capital investment. Bidders must register on the project's designated website and provide detailed company information, including contractor license details, contact information, and their intended role (bidder, supplier, or subcontractor). The Wooten Company, located in Greenville, NC, is serving as the engineering and issuing office for the bidding documents. Evaluation criteria appear to focus on the lowest responsible bid, considering factors such as quality, performance, and proposed contract completion time, with the owner reserving the right to waive informalities or reject any or all bids.
