The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is offering the FY 2024 WIC State Agency General Infrastructure Grants to support WIC state agencies in modernizing their programs. The grants will fund projects related to four key objectives: 1) updating the state agency's management information system (MIS) and/or electronic benefit transfer (EBT) system, 2) enhancing the state agency's MIS, EBT system, and/or other technology to improve the user experience and program efficiency, 3) increasing WIC awareness through new branding and outreach activities, and 4) upgrading state/local agency technology and equipment to improve performance, security, and user experience. State agencies may apply individually or as the lead of a multi-state collaboration. Applications are due by July 5, 2024, and awards are anticipated in September 2024.
The total funding available is $10 million, with an additional $20 million potentially available from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The maximum award per application will be $2-4 million, depending on the selected Track. This funding opportunity is authorized under the WIC Grants to States (CFDA 10.578) program and will support projects from September 2024 through September 2027.
