About this opportunity
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration seeks applicants for the Treatment, Recovery, and Workforce Support program to fund individuals with substance use disorder or co-occurring disorder in treatment and recovery with application due July 23, 2026.
Eligible applicants include Single State Agencies for Substance Use, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories (Guam, Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Republic of Palau), local governments, federally recognized tribes and tribal organizations, state administrative agencies, service providers, community and nonprofit organizations, universities and colleges, research institutions, and training and technical assistance providers.
The program operates under five strategic objectives: expanding access to substance use disorder treatment, improving treatment service quality, supporting recovery-oriented systems of care, addressing the opioid and overdose crisis, and strengthening the treatment workforce. Awards are determined through a competitive merit review process that includes program analysis and concurrence from the CSAT National Advisory Council. Applicants submit detailed project descriptions for evaluation.
The program is assigned CFDA 93.490, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Projects of Regional and National Significance. Award ceilings, floors, and expected number of awards are determined as part of the Notice of Funding Opportunity. Recipients must retain records for three years beyond the award period or until final audit completion and resolution of findings, whichever extends longer.
Synopsis
The purpose of the Treatment, Recovery and Workforce Support program is to support individuals in substance use disorder (SUD) or co-occurring disorder (COD) treatment and recovery to live independently and participate in the workforce.
