The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is soliciting applications for grants to enhance comprehensive treatment and recovery services for children ages 11 and under, adolescents ages 12-17, and young adults ages 18-25 with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders and their families/primary caregivers, with an application deadline of July 16, 2026.
Eligible applicants include Single State Agencies for Substance Use, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Palau, local governments, federally recognized tribes and tribal organizations, state administrative agencies, service providers, community and nonprofit organizations, universities and colleges, research institutions, and training and technical assistance providers.
The program operates under CFDA 93.490 (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Projects of Regional and National Significance) and supports five strategic objectives: expanding access to substance use disorder treatment, improving treatment service quality, supporting recovery-oriented systems of care, addressing the opioid and overdose crisis, and strengthening the treatment workforce.
Awards are determined through merit review, program analysis, and concurrence from the CSAT National Advisory Council. Specific award amounts, number of awards, and period of performance are determined as part of the Notice of Funding Opportunity. Applicants must maintain records for at least three years, or beyond that period if final audit has not been completed or findings resolved.
