About this opportunity
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 10 is offering Transboundary Watershed Grants (TWG) to assist state, local governments, and Tribal entities in monitoring, assessing, and reducing transboundary mining pollution in the Kootenai/y watershed and other U.S.-British Columbia transboundary watersheds. The grants are authorized under Section 104(b)(3) of the Clean Water Act and eligible applicants include Indian Tribes, intertribal consortia, state governments, and local governments. The application deadline is January 17, 2025, and awards are anticipated to be announced in June 2025.
The TWG program will provide up to $1.8 million in funding for up to 10 awards ranging from $50,000 to $600,000. The grants will fund projects that develop or refine state, Tribal, territory, or local government transboundary watershed programs. The grants will be awarded through cooperative agreements, and projects are expected to be performed nationwide with an emphasis on underserved and rural communities.
