About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is issuing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a cooperative agreement to support HIV services in Ukraine. The program aims to enhance HIV testing, prevention, and treatment activities among key populations amid the ongoing war, working with Ukraine's Ministry of Health, Public Health Center, and communities. Key strategies include improving access to comprehensive HIV services, implementing differentiated service delivery models, expanding medication-assisted therapy (MAT) access, and harmonizing policies with international standards. Applicants must demonstrate expertise in training healthcare professionals, using innovative testing approaches, and expanding MAT services. A local partner funding preference provides additional points during application evaluation. The deadline to submit proposals is February 21, 2025.
For the first year, the CDC anticipates providing approximately $8 million in funding, subject to availability. The agency expects to make 1-2 awards for a five-year project period, with an expected start date of September 30, 2025. The program falls under the Global AIDS (CFDA 93.067) grant, which supports a wide range of PEPFAR-related activities in Ukraine and other focus countries.
