About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health is soliciting applications for change of recipient organization status (Successor-in-Interest) under multiple parent clinical trial optional funding mechanisms, with an application due date of July 17, 2027. Applications are considered prior approval requests and will be routed directly to the Grants Management Specialist named in the current award; however, there is no guarantee that an award will be transferred to the new organization. All applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss potential successor-in-interest requests with the awarding Institute or Center before submission.

Eligible applicant categories are broad and include special district governments, public and private higher education institutions, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, county and city/township governments, tribal governments (both federally and non-federally recognized), tribal organizations, independent school districts, small businesses, for-profit organizations, public and Indian housing authorities, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian serving institutions, AANAPISIs, faith-based and community-based organizations, HBCUs, TCCUs, and U.S. territories or possessions. Non-domestic (foreign) organizations are also eligible.

Each CFDA represents an active, peer-reviewed research funding program within NIH with standing or forecasted grant opportunities.

No cost share, matching requirements, or award ceilings are specified in the source material for this successor-in-interest mechanism. The application process requires use of FORMS-H or FORMS-I (depending on application type) with general instructions supplemented by Research, Training, Fellowship, or Career Development specific instructions as applicable to the grant mechanism.
