The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is soliciting applications to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of statewide mental health peer-run organizations, with an application due date of June 24, 2026.
Eligible applicants include domestic private and public non-profit organizations (including faith-based organizations), states (including the District of Columbia, U.S. Territories, and Pacific Jurisdictions), political subdivisions of states, consortia of political subdivisions of states, public or private institutions of higher education, Indian tribes or tribal organizations, federally recognized tribal governments, health facilities and hospitals, programs operated under contract or award with the Indian Health Service, and state, local, or tribal education agencies.
This opportunity falls under CFDA 93.532, Center for Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance. The program supports knowledge development and application projects for prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation; training and technical assistance programs; targeted capacity response initiatives; and systems change grants including statewide family network grants and client-oriented and consumer-run self-help activities, which may include technical assistance centers.
Merit review of submitted applications considers the proposed project description and includes program analysis and concurrence by the CMHS National Advisory Council. Award amounts and the expected number of awards are determined as part of the Notice of Funding Opportunity. Grant recipients must retain records for three years; retention extends beyond the three-year period if final audit has not been completed or findings resolved.
