About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is seeking applicants for the Rural Emergency Medical Communications Demonstration Project (REMCDP). Through a single $1,000,000 cooperative agreement, CISA aims to examine communications barriers and identify solutions that enhance existing emergency communications infrastructure to improve the delivery of rural medical care and address gaps in the National Emergency Communications Plan (NECP). Eligible applicants include public institutions of higher education, states, U.S. territories, local governments, and federally-recognized tribal governments that operate or have access to an existing statewide or regional emergency communications system and partner with a medical facility or organization providing rural emergency medical care. The application deadline is August 9, 2024, and the anticipated award date is no later than September 27, 2024.
The period of performance for the cooperative agreement is 24 months, starting on September 30, 2024. The project must be carried out at locations tied to the grantee organization across multiple states, focusing on enhancing rural emergency medical communications infrastructure and addressing NECP implementation gaps.
