About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of State, through its U.S. Embassy Algiers, is seeking applicants for a capacity building exchange program between the U.S. National Parks Service and the Tassili N'ajjer and Ahaggar Cultural Parks in Algeria. The objective is to support Algerian efforts in remote site monitoring of these cultural heritage sites. Eligible applicants include city/township governments, nonprofits, county governments, higher education institutions, special district governments, and state governments. The application deadline is June 30, 2024, and the program is expected to run from November 2024 to April 2025. The total available funding is $85,000, subject to availability, and the program will be administered as a cooperative agreement under the Cultural Antiquities Task Force (CFDA 19.036) program.
The proposed project activities include a series of exchanges between U.S. and Algerian experts to share knowledge and best practices on remote site monitoring. The exchanges will involve international and domestic travel, training in both countries, and public outreach. Applicants must submit the required federal forms, including the SF-424, SF-424A, and SF-424B, and demonstrate compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
