About this opportunity
This cooperative agreement from USAID/Ukraine seeks applicants to implement the Rehabilitation for Ukraine Activity aiming to develop sustainable, quality physical rehabilitation services across Ukraine's health system. Up to $40 million may be awarded over five years to organizations meeting financial, M&E, and project experience standards to create rehabilitation access at all care levels, address needs of civilians and veterans, and strengthen workforce training. Applications are due by March 5, 2024 with potential requests for full proposals by May 2024 and funding authorized under USAID's Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas program.
Awards would support improving national leadership and access to affordable, quality rehabilitation services and technologies through a systems approach aligned with government priorities and person-centered model. The anticipated total award value is $40 million distributed over five years to support activity implementation across Ukraine optimizing individual functioning and participation in recovery from conflict and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Synopsis
The primary goal of the Rehabilitation for Ukraine (Rehab4U) Activity is to create sustainable quality physical rehabilitation services within the health system across all levels of care, including the primary health care (PHC) level, by addressing both urgent, short-term gaps and long-term systems requirements. Sustainable, quality, physical rehabilitation services will enable all Ukrainians to optimize their functioning, fully integrate within society, and participate in the economic recovery and growth of the country. For implementation of this activity, USAID seeks to utilize a systems approach, focusing on government ownership, development of physical rehabilitation services for long-term sustainability, and simultaneously applying a person-centered approach to address the distinct rehabilitation needs of individuals and the communities that support them, while also addressing urgent needs and gaps in rehabilitation. The specific target population will be civilian victims of war, persons with disabilities, veterans, the rehabilitation workforce, training institutions, and the Government of Ukraine (GOU). USAID/Ukraine plans to provide up to $40 million, subject to availability of funds, over a five-year period to support this Activity.
