About this opportunity
The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women is soliciting applications for the FY 2026 Training and Services to End Violence and Abuse Against Individuals with Disabilities and Deaf People Program, with applications due September 25, 2026 (Step 1 in Grants.gov) and September 29, 2026 (Step 2 in JustGrants). All applications must include both a victim service provider or Tribal organization and a nonprofit organization serving individuals with disabilities and/or Deaf people, with the lead applicant filling only one of these roles.
Eligible applicants are states, units of local government, Indian Tribal governments or tribal organizations, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, including victim service providers such as domestic violence or sexual assault coalitions. The program distributes $10.5 million across approximately 18 awards of up to $600,000 each for a 36-month period beginning October 1, 2026. Projects must operate at state, Tribal, multi-county, or local levels and focus on one to two disability types and crime areas including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or caregiver abuse. Funding supports one or more of eight statutory purposes, including providing personnel and training, conducting outreach and cross-training, modifying facilities and equipment, and delivering advocacy and intervention services. Minimum allocations of $15,000 to $20,000 for training and technical assistance travel are required.
The Proposal Narrative (maximum 15 pages) is weighted at 100 points: Purpose of the Project (30%), What Will Be Done (35%), Who Will Implement the Project (20%), and Budget (15%). Applicants must submit a Memorandum of Understanding documenting partnerships and supporting documentation including 501(c)(3) certification. CFDA 16.529.
