About this opportunity

The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women is soliciting applications for the Training and Services to End Abuse in Later Life Program, with applications due September 14, 2026. Eligible applicants are states, tribal governments and organizations, units of local government, victim service providers, population-specific organizations, and domestic violence or sexual assault coalitions; applicants must participate in a multidisciplinary partnership that includes a law enforcement agency, prosecution office, victim service provider, and a nonprofit or government agency with experience serving adults age 50 or older.

The program funds comprehensive approaches to addressing abuse in later life—including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, neglect, abandonment, economic abuse, and willful harm—affecting victims age 50 and older. Funded activities center on training for law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges; direct services to older victims; establishment or strengthening of multidisciplinary community response teams; and cross-training victim service organizations, courts, and nonprofits.

Recent awards cluster in the $300 thousand to $800 thousand range, with some continuation awards reaching $1.25 million. The program operates under CFDA 16.528 (Enhanced Training and Services to End Violence and Abuse of Women Later in Life). Renewals are considered case-by-case and applicants are notified by fiscal year end. All applicants must apply through Grants.gov and the Department of Justice JustGrants System. Financial records and supporting documentation must be retained for three years from final expenditure report submission, or longer if litigation, claims, or audits are pending.
