About this opportunity
The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women seeks applicants for the State and Territory Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalitions Program with an application due date of August 31, 2026. Eligibility is strictly limited to state domestic violence coalitions designated by the Secretary of Health and Human Services under the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act and state sexual assault coalitions designated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Center for Injury Prevention and Control under the Public Health Service Act; 501(c)(3) nonprofits and non-501(c)(3) nonprofits may apply only if they hold such designation.
This is a set-aside program under the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program statute and includes a statutory set-aside from the Sexual Assault Services Program statute for state and territory sexual assault coalitions. Coalitions coordinate state victim services and collaborate with federal, state, local, and judicial entities on violence against women activities. Under the SASP set-aside, coalitions work with local sexual assault programs and direct service providers, engage judicial and law enforcement agencies on appropriate sexual assault responses, develop protocols for child custody and visitation issues involving sexual assault, design and conduct public education campaigns, plan and monitor grant distribution to local programs, and collaborate with public officials to develop policies reducing sexual assault.
Recent awards have ranged from $110 thousand to $353 thousand per recipient. Applicants must submit through Grants.gov and the Department of Justice JustGrants System. Financial records and supporting documents must be retained for three years from the date of final expenditure report submission. Notifications of award will be issued by the end of the fiscal year. The program operates on an annual application cycle.
