About this opportunity

The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women is soliciting applications for an administrative funding adjustment under the Transitional Housing Assistance for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, or Sexual Assault program (CFDA 16.736), with applications due August 31, 2026. This is an adjustment to prior awards; applicants must reference the original NOFO under which OVW made the prior award and OVW's FY 2026 Application Companion Guide for program purposes and requirements.

Eligible applicants are States, Indian tribal governments, units of local government, and organizations including domestic violence and sexual assault victim service providers, coalitions, nonprofits, population-specific organizations, and community-based and culturally-specific organizations that have a documented history of effective work concerning domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking.

The program funds transitional housing assistance and related support services for minors, adults, and their dependents who are homeless or in need of transitional housing because of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking. Support services include case management, safety planning, financial and employment counseling, childcare, legal advocacy, and housing navigation. Projects deliver victim-centered assistance for 6 to 24 months. Recent awards cluster around $500,000 per grant, ranging from approximately $372,000 to $525,000. Renewals are considered on a case-by-case basis; applicants are notified by the end of the fiscal year and must accept awards online through the Department of Justice JustGrants system. Recipients must retain financial records for three years from final expenditure report submission. Applicants must apply through Grants.gov and JustGrants.

Synopsis

For program purposes and requirements see the original NOFO under which OVW made the prior award and OVW's FY 2026 Application Companion Guide.
