About this opportunity
The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), a division of the Department of Justice, is seeking grant applications for the Fiscal Year 2025 Training and Services to End Violence and Abuse Against Individuals with Disabilities and Deaf People Program. The primary objective is to provide training, consultation, and enhanced direct services addressing domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual assault, and caregiver abuse targeting individuals with disabilities and Deaf people. Eligible applicants include county and city governments, state and tribal governments, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, with for-profit entities and individuals explicitly excluded. Evaluation criteria will be specified in the program's Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), with applicants required to submit through Grants.gov and the Department of Justice's JustGrants System. The application deadline is September 23, 2025, with applicants expected to be notified by the end of the fiscal year.
Federal grant awards under this program typically range from $325,000 to $720,000, with cooperative agreement terms spanning two to three years. The program emphasizes a two-phase approach involving planning/development and implementation, focusing on building collaborative relationships and increasing organizational capacity to support vulnerable populations. Recipients must retain financial records and supporting documents for three years following the final expenditure report submission. Funds will be released on an as-needed basis to the grantee, with potential for renewal considered on a case-by-case basis. The performance will involve nationwide implementation across various service areas, targeting improvements in organizational responses to violence against individuals with disabilities and Deaf individuals.
