About this opportunity
The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is seeking applications for the Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Assistance Grants for Victims of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking Program. This grant opportunity supports victim service providers, Tribal governments, and Tribal organizations in delivering flexible financial assistance to survivors of interpersonal violence. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, federally and non-federally recognized Tribal organizations, and Tribal governments. The primary objective is to provide financial support that helps survivors achieve safety, stability, and healing by covering essential expenses not easily addressed by traditional service providers. Evaluation criteria will be specified in the program notice of funding opportunity (NOFO), with applications due by October 21, 2025, through the Grants.gov portal and the Department of Justice's JustGrants System.
The grant awards are typically Project Grants ranging from $350,000 to $500,000, with a standard two-year performance period from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2027. Funding will support comprehensive assistance covering critical costs such as rent, utilities, transportation, healthcare, and education expenses. Recipients must comply with the DOJ Financial Grants Management Guide and retain financial records and supporting documents for three years after the final expenditure report. The program will consider renewals on a case-by-case basis, with applicants expected to be notified by the end of the fiscal year. Successful recipients will need to have their Authorized Representative accept the award online upon approval by the Office on Violence Against Women.
