About this opportunity
The Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) is seeking applicants for the Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities--Preparation of Early Intervention and Special Education Personnel Serving Children with Disabilities who have High-Intensity Needs program (ALN 84.325K). The grant program aims to help address state-identified needs for personnel preparation in early intervention, special education, related services, and regular education to work with children, including infants, toddlers, and youth with disabilities. Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education (private and public) and nonprofit organizations. The competition includes an absolute priority focused on preparing scholars to serve children with high-intensity needs, as well as a competitive preference priority for applications from new potential grantees. The application deadline is December 3, 2024.
The Department intends to make approximately 12 awards ranging from $200,000 to $350,000 per year for project periods of up to 60 months, contingent on appropriations. Award recipients may use the grant funding to develop new or enhance existing degree programs, training initiatives, and applied research projects focused on preparing personnel with the skills and knowledge to successfully serve infants, toddlers, and children with disabilities, particularly those with high-intensity needs.
