About this opportunity
The Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is seeking to provide grants to three states to immediately address the current crises in youth violence impacting their juvenile justice systems. In addition to funding, OJJDP will directly provide technical assistance to each state with a focus on responding to concerns regarding youth at risk of and engaged in violence. The long-term goal of this effort is to support sustainable, research-based, and data-informed delinquency prevention practices and programming. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to implement evidence-based strategies to combat youth delinquency and address the unmet needs of at-risk or delinquent youth. The proposal deadline is January 13, 2025.
Recent Federal Grant Awards under the Delinquency Prevention Program have primarily been Cooperative Agreements and Project Grants ranging from $50,000 to $1.5 million over 1-5 year periods. The program aims to support initiatives in communities across the United States, with a focus on building local continuums of care, implementing arts programs for justice-involved youth, and developing youth violence prevention programs.
