Eligible applicants include non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, public and private higher education institutions, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits. The key requirements involve providing membership and accreditation assistance for local/state CASA organizations, training and technical assistance, and subgrants to help initiate, sustain, and expand CASA program activities. The evaluation criteria and objectives are focused on enhancing volunteer child advocacy services. The application deadline is August 1, 2024.

Major federal grant awards under the CASA program from OJJDP have ranged from around $10-32 million and are issued as cooperative agreements for approximately 1-3 year periods. The National Court Appointed Special Advocates Association has been a frequent recipient. No specific places of performance are designated for this opportunity.
