About this opportunity
Paragraph 1:
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement to assist jurisdictions in planning and assessing promising and evidence-based prevention and intervention services that will inform the development of a community-based continuum of care for youth at risk of or already involved in the juvenile justice system. The long-term goal is to support sustainable, research-based, and data-informed recidivism-reduction policies, practices, and programming, and the strategic reinvestment of cost savings into effective prevention and intervention programs. Applications will be evaluated on the applicant's understanding of the program's objectives, their proposed approach, and their qualifications and experience. The application deadline is August 21, 2024.
Paragraph 2:
This opportunity is funded through the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI) program, which provides awards ranging from approximately $500,000 to $2.5 million over 2-3 year periods to state departments of corrections, juvenile justice agencies, and court systems. The OJJDP is seeking proposals to assist states in implementing data-driven juvenile justice system reforms and developing community-based alternatives to youth incarceration.
