Synopsis

This program will provide funding to manage a national grant awards program for local children's advocacy center programs. Children's advocacy centers (CACs) provide a coordinated response to victims of child abuse through multidisciplinary teams composed of representatives from the statutorily mandated and other involved agencies. This program is authorized under the Victims of Child Abuse Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 13002.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are limited to states (including territories), units of local government (including federally recognized tribal governments, as determined by the Secretary of the Interior), nonprofit and for-profit organizations (including tribal nonprofit and for-profit organizations), and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education). For-profit organizations must agree to forgo any profit or management fee. OJJDP welcomes applications that involve two or more entities; however, one eligible entity must be the applicant and the others must be proposed as subrecipients. The applicant must be the entity with primary responsibility for administering the funding and managing the entire program. Only one application per lead applicant will be considered; however, subrecipients may be part of multiple proposals.
