About this opportunity

The Department of Energy (DOE) National Energy Technology Lab is issuing a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) titled "SuperTruck Charge" to advance goals for decarbonizing transportation and achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The anticipated FOA will support research, development, demonstration, and deployment of concepts for delivering high-power charging, load management, and grid services to alleviate capacity challenges at large-scale charging installations for medium-duty and heavy-duty electric trucks. The FOA will have two sub-topics focused on truck depots and truck stops/travel centers. Successful applicants may receive cooperative agreement awards with a performance period of approximately 36-48 months. The FOA is expected to be released in June/July 2024 through the EERE eXCHANGE website, and eligible applicants are advised to complete registration requirements in advance.

The funding for this opportunity is provided through the Conservation Research and Development program (CFDA 81.086). While specific award values or budget ranges are not provided, the project aims to advance critical technologies and infrastructure to support the Administration's decarbonization goals for the transportation sector.
