About this opportunity
The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking rigorous, applied evaluative research proposals through the FY25 Research and Evaluation of Policing Practices grant opportunity. The research should focus on one or more of the following areas: (1) police conduct and police-community interactions; (2) officer safety, health, and wellness; (3) criminal investigations; and (4) alternative traffic enforcement models. NIJ also welcomes investigator-initiated proposals on other policing topics. Eligible applicants include a broad range of entities such as county governments, higher education institutions, public housing authorities, and nonprofits. Proposals will be evaluated based on the quality of the research design, the qualifications of the research team, and the potential impact of the findings. The application deadline is March 20, 2025.
This grant opportunity is part of the National Institute of Justice Research, Evaluation, and Development Project Grants program, which typically provides multi-year project grants ranging from $25,000 to $6.9 million.
