About this opportunity
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at the National Institutes of Health is forecasting a cooperative agreement opportunity to support infrastructure for the NIH Stroke Clinical Trials Network (StrokeNet), specifically regional clinical enrollment coordinating centers (RCCs); applications are not currently being solicited and no hard deadline is present, but this notice allows potential applicants time to develop collaborations prior to future solicitation.
Eligible applicants include state governments, county governments, city and township governments, tribal governments (federally recognized and non-federally recognized), public and private higher education institutions, independent school districts, 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, for-profit organizations, small businesses, public or Indian housing authorities, federal agencies, U.S. territories or possessions, faith-based or community-based organizations, and regional organizations.
StrokeNet conducts clinical trials focused on advancing acute stroke treatment, stroke prevention, and stroke recovery and rehabilitation across the lifespan. The network's mission is to improve outcomes for individuals who experience stroke by evaluating promising new therapies for stroke patients and those at risk for stroke. Standard NIH peer-review procedures apply, with technical panels and the National Advisory Neurological Disorders and Stroke Council evaluating scientific merit, technical adequacy, investigator competency, facilities and resources, budget necessity, and relevance to program objectives. Grantees must comply with 45 CFR 75 audit and record retention requirements, including single or program-specific audits for nonfederal entities expending $750,000 or more annually in federal awards.
