About this opportunity

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is soliciting proposals through its Office of STEM Engagement to establish state or regionally focused NASA Aerospace Skilled Technical Workforce Hubs (NAS_Hubs) that address critical shortages in the aerospace skilled technical workforce. Applicants must develop strategic centers coordinating aerospace employers, career and technical education programs at community colleges and high schools, state or regional workforce development boards, economic development agencies, and NASA Centers to create clear pathways for students and jobseekers into high-demand, entry-level aerospace technical careers not requiring a bachelor's degree. Eligible applicants include government entities, institutions of higher education, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and small businesses. Proposals will be evaluated based on relevance to NASA, intrinsic merit, and budget reasonableness through administrative, merit, and financial review. The proposal submission deadline is March 20, 2026, with electronic submission required through NASA's NSPIRES system; cost sharing is not required.

Approximately $12 million in total funding is anticipated over a three-year period, with an expected eight awards of approximately $1.5 million each (up to $500,000 annually). The cooperative agreement performance period spans three years, with award announcements expected 150 to 220 days following the proposal due date. Places of performance will include recipient institutions in collaboration with NASA Centers and designated facilities, with the initiative serving as a regional or state-level coordinating hub that aligns education, workforce systems, industry, and NASA missions.
