About this opportunity
The Department of State Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation is offering a cooperative agreement award to strengthen partner capabilities and commitment to counter proliferation. The grant will fund a two-week North African Border Management Academy over two years, focused on advancing interagency cooperation and border security strategies among Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. Eligible applicants include U.S. and foreign nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and public international organizations. Proposals will be evaluated on factors such as organizational experience, project design, budget, anticipated results, and plans for innovation and measuring outcomes. The deadline for proposals is March 4, 2023.
Up to $888,889 is available under the Nonproliferation, Anti-terrorism, Demining, and Related Programs-Export Control and Related Border Security Program (CFDA 19.901) to support this initiative. The award period of performance is 24 months, and the academy is expected to be held at the same location as the 2022 event, which was managed by the University of Georgia and PNNL.
