About this opportunity

The Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is seeking grant applications for the Maternity Group Home (MGH) program, which aims to provide comprehensive support for pregnant and parenting youth ages 16 to under 22 experiencing homelessness. The program requires service providers to offer safe, stable shelter for 18 months (up to 21 months in extenuating circumstances) and deliver critical services including parenting skills, child development, family budgeting, health and nutrition education, and support to achieve improvements in four core outcome areas: safe housing, education/employment, permanent connections, and social-emotional well-being. Applicants will be evaluated based on their ability to accommodate the needs and safety of dependent children, provide street-based outreach, and promote long-term economic independence for youth and their children. Eligible applicants include public and private nonprofit entities, state and local governments, educational institutions, and tribal organizations. The application deadline is July 28, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, with an expected project start date of September 30, 2025.

The federal grant opportunity will award approximately 23 grants, with individual award amounts ranging from $100,000 to $350,000, and a total program funding of $8,142,259. The grant supports a three-year project period with potential non-competing continuation awards based on satisfactory progress and available funding. Recipients are required to provide a 10% cost-sharing match and will be expected to implement comprehensive services across multiple locations, with a focus on helping vulnerable youth populations achieve self-sufficiency and improve their overall well-being.
