About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is forecasting a limited-competition grant to support educational activities that complement and enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research needs within the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program. Eligibility is restricted to recipients that have successfully competed for and received an award under the CTSA UM1 NOFO PAR-24-272 or subsequent iterations.
The program funds research education initiatives that accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into treatments, diagnostics, and health interventions through a national network of academic medical centers providing infrastructure, expertise, training, and collaboration to move discoveries from laboratory into clinical practice and community health. Awards are issued under Sections 301 and 405 of the Public Health Service Act (42 USC 241 and 284) and comply with 42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200. The Assistance Listing number is 93.350.
Project periods extend from 1 to 7 years. Funds transfer electronically. Peer review follows NIH standard processes, with initial review by committees of biomedical research and science education authorities, and final recommendations forwarded to the NCATS Advisory Council. Evaluation criteria assess scientific merit and significance, technical adequacy of design and approach, investigator competency, facility and resource adequacy, budget necessity relative to project scope, and relevance to program objectives.
Grantees must retain financial and programmatic records for three years from the date of annual financial status report submission.
