About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health is forecasting a limited-competition grant opportunity to support institutional programs that prepare later-stage postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty for independent clinical and translational science careers under the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program, with no application deadline stated in this forecast notice. Eligibility is restricted to current recipients of CTSA awards under UM1 NOFO PAR-24-272 or subsequent iterations. Awards are made under Sections 301 and 405 of the Public Health Service Act and 42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200. The program accelerates translation of scientific discoveries into treatments, diagnostics, and health interventions by funding a national network of academic medical centers that provide infrastructure, expertise, training, and collaboration to move discoveries from laboratory into clinical practice and community health. Applications will undergo peer review, and only meritorious applications will be considered for funding. Evaluation criteria include scientific merit and significance of proposed objectives; technical adequacy of experimental design and approach; competency of the proposed investigator or group; adequacy of available and proposed facilities and resources; necessity of budget components relative to the proposed project; relevance and importance to announced program objectives; and availability of funds. The CTSA Program operates under the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, Assistance Listing 93.350. Initial review is conducted by committees of authorities in biomedical research and science education, with recommendations forwarded to the NCATS Advisory Council for second-level review and award recommendation. Grantees must retain financial and programmatic records for three years from submission of annual financial status reports.
