About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences is forecasting a limited-competition grant solicitation for High Impact Specialized Innovation Programs in Clinical and Translational Science, with eligibility restricted to current Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) UM1 award recipients. This program supports the development and demonstration of unique hub capabilities, research platforms, and resources to address critical gaps and roadblocks in clinical and translational science at CTSA Program Hubs.

Eligibility is limited to organizations that have successfully competed for and received a CTSA UM1 award under PAR-24-272 or subsequent iterations. No cost share is mentioned in the solicitation.

The program operates under the authorization of Sections 301 and 405 of the Public Health Service Act (42 USC 241 and 284) and Federal Regulations 42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200. The CTSA Program's overarching purpose is to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into treatments, diagnostics, and health interventions by funding a national network of academic medical centers that provide infrastructure, expertise, training, and collaboration to move discoveries from laboratory into clinical practice and community health.

Applications will undergo standard NIH peer-review processes, with merit-based evaluation conducted by committees of authorities in biomedical research and science education. Reviewers will assess scientific merit and significance, technical adequacy of experimental design, investigator competency, adequacy of facilities and resources, budget necessity, and relevance to program objectives. The NCATS Advisory Council conducts second-level review and makes funding recommendations.

The opportunity falls under CFDA 93.350, National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences.
