About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is forecasting a limited-competition cooperative agreement to support collaborative development of innovative approaches, technologies, or models that enhance translational science impact and accelerate treatment delivery. Eligibility is restricted to organizations that have successfully competed for a Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) UM1 cooperative agreement under PAR-24-272 or subsequent iterations, either as a prime recipient or as a partnering institution.
The program funds infrastructure, expertise, training, and collaboration across a national network of academic medical centers to move scientific discoveries from laboratory into clinical practice and community health. Awards operate under Sections 301 and 405 of the Public Health Service Act (42 USC 241 and 284) and are subject to 42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200.
Peer review occurs in two stages: initial evaluation by committees of biomedical research authorities assesses scientific merit, experimental design adequacy, investigator competency, facility and resource availability, budget necessity relative to proposed work, and relevance to program objectives. Recommendations advance to the NCATS Advisory Council for final review and award recommendation.
Period of performance extends one to seven years with electronic fund transfer. Grantees retain financial and programmatic records for three years from annual financial status report submission. The opportunity carries the standard PHS Act authorization structure and operates under NIH standard peer-review processes; only meritorious applications receive funding consideration.
CFDA 93.350 is assigned under the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences program.
Forecast synopsis
The purpose of the Congressionally mandated Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program is to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into treatments, diagnostics, and health interventions that improve patient and public health by funding and coordinating a national network of academic medical centers that provide the infrastructure, expertise, training, and collaboration needed to move discoveries from the laboratory into clinical practice and community health. The purpose of the reissuance of the Collaborative and Innovative Acceleration Award for the CTSA Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to support the collaborative development of innovative approaches, technologies, or models that synergistically enhance the impact of research, advance translational science, and bring more treatments for all people more quickly.
Awards are made under the authorization of Sections 301 and 405 of the Public Health Service Act as amended (42 USC 241 and 284) and under Federal Regulations 42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200.
This is a Forecast for a Limited Competition that will invite application(s) from eligible organization(s) to apply. Please see Eligibility Section for additional information. In accordance with NIH standard peer-review processes, the application(s) will be peer-reviewed, and only meritorious application(s) will be considered for funding.
Eligibility
