About this opportunity

The Landscape Scale Restoration (LSR) Competitive Grant Program 2025 West is a federal grant opportunity from the USDA Forest Service that aims to support collaborative, science-based restoration of priority rural forest landscapes across the western United States. Eligible applicants include state governments, local governments, tribes, non-profits, and universities. Projects must achieve measurable on-the-ground outcomes, leverage public and private resources, and align with priorities identified in State Forest Action Plans or equivalent state-wide restoration strategies. The application will be evaluated based on criteria such as cross-boundary collaboration, coordination with complementary projects, and benefits to underserved communities. The deadline to submit proposals is 5:00 pm Mountain Time on December 2, 2024.

The minimum funding request is $25,000, and the maximum is $300,000, with a 1:1 non-federal match required. Up to 5 applications per state/territory may be submitted, and a multi-state proposal option is available. Projects must be located on rural, non-industrial private or state forest lands in the western states, territories, and Pacific islands covered by this funding opportunity.
