About this opportunity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Resilience, Environment and Food Security (REFS) is seeking feedback on a planned set of research activities through a Request for Information (RFI). The focus areas include: 1) improving the genetics and management of perennial crops important to food security, 2) improving the genetics and management of climate resilient and nutritious vegetable crops, and 3) integrating efficient and effective water, land, and soil management. USAID is looking to gather input from implementing partners, local organizations, researchers, NGOs, and other stakeholders to help coordinate and drive effective research in these areas. Responses to the RFI are due by Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST and should be submitted by email to ftfresearch@usaid.gov.

The RFI is part of USAID's Feed the Future Innovation Labs initiative, and the agency plans to hold an industry day in late January to early February 2025 to cover these three research areas as well as additional Innovation Labs focused on Sustainable Livestock Systems and Holistic Risk Management. The RFI explicitly states that responding will not provide any advantage in subsequent funding opportunities, and all information submitted becomes USAID property without individualized feedback provided to respondents.
