About this opportunity
This cooperative agreement opportunity from the Bureau of Land Management seeks proposals for projects supporting threatened and endangered species conservation on California BLM lands. Eligible applicants include state, local, tribal, and nonprofit organizations to implement proactive conservation actions with direct population benefits for special status species. Proposals are due February 2, 2024 and will be evaluated based on technical approach, public benefit, and qualifications. A total of $2.5 million is available across 30 anticipated awards ranging from $5,000 to $300,000 each. Projects should be implemented between October 2024 through October 2029 and support the Department of Interior's priorities under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act.
The Bureau of Land Management will provide funding for personnel, fringe benefits, travel costs, equipment, supplies, contractual services, construction if applicable, and indirect expenses over potential five-year project periods. Templates are provided for project proposals, budget narratives, and work will be performed on California BLM lands to benefit threatened and endangered species populations.
