The program seeks applications from U.S.-accredited public or private 501(c)(3) colleges and universities to develop new or enhance existing humanities programs, resources, and courses across five targeted initiatives: Colleges and Universities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and Community Colleges. Eligible activities include curriculum development, student enrichment, faculty development, and partnerships. The application deadline is May 6, 2025, with optional draft submissions due by March 25, 2025, and anticipated award announcements in December 2025.
The funding opportunity provides grants up to $150,000 per award, with approximately $3.75 million available across an estimated 25 grants. Projects must start between February 1, 2026, and September 1, 2026, and can last from one to three years. The program aims to support initiatives that explore, interpret, and preserve the diversity of human cultures, ideas, and practices, past and present.
