About this opportunity

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) South Africa is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement to implement the "HIV Prevention Among Adolescent Girls and Young Women and Other Vulnerable Youth Populations - DREAMS South" program. The goal is to substantially lower HIV incidence among adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) ages 10-24 across four provinces in South Africa by improving access to evidence-based prevention interventions. Key requirements include increasing community/youth leadership, access to biomedical services, social protection, and technical assistance to government. Applicant eligibility is restricted to local South African organizations, and a minimum 10% recipient cost share is required. The application deadline for concept papers is February 18, 2025, with questions due by January 21, 2025.

The total estimated funding range for the 5-year cooperative agreement is $52-58 million. The program falls under CFDA 98.001 - USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas and requires significant monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, with 15-25% of resources allocated for these activities. The place of performance covers the KwaZulu Natal, Free State, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape provinces in South Africa.
