About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation is seeking applicants for a cooperative agreement to monitor habitats important to the endangered Colorado pikeminnow and razorback sucker along the San Juan River. The project requires conducting aerial and LiDAR imagery collection, spatial analysis, and reporting on the abundance and distribution of key habitats such as backwaters, embayments, and islands. Eligible applicants include state, local, and tribal governments, non-profit organizations, and for-profit entities. The evaluation criteria will focus on the applicant's technical approach, project management plan, and relevant experience. The application deadline is July 1, 2024.
The cooperative agreement provides up to $1,500,000 in funding over 5 years, with no more than $300,000 available per fiscal year. The project area covers the San Juan River from the confluence with the Animas River to the inflow of Lake Powell. This funding opportunity is part of the Upper Colorado and San Juan River Basins Endangered Fish Recovery program (CFDA 15.529) administered by the Bureau of Reclamation.
