About this opportunity

This Federal Grant Opportunity, with ID L25AS00161, is being offered by the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for the FY25 IIJA/IRA California Forest and Woodlands Resource Management program. The program will fund cooperative agreements to support forest and woodland health, sustainable management, fire resiliency, biomass utilization, and habitat conservation through activities such as tree planting, thinning, salvage treatments, vegetation control, fuels reduction, and restoration work. Eligible applicants include state/local governments, tribal entities, higher education institutions, and non-profit organizations. Applications will be evaluated on the project's ability to promote the program's objectives, alignment with BLM priorities, and demonstration of measurable outcomes. The application period opens on December 4, 2024 and closes on February 3, 2025.

The BLM expects to award approximately 10 cooperative agreements ranging from $50,000 to $300,000 each, with a total program funding of $3 million. All funded projects must be performed on public lands managed by the BLM across the state of California, with a focus on cross-boundary collaboration and regional impact.
