About this opportunity
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering FY25 Brownfield Assessment Grants (Community-wide Assessment Grants) to provide funding for developing inventories of brownfield sites, prioritizing sites, conducting community involvement activities, planning, site assessments, developing cleanup plans, and developing reuse plans related to brownfield sites. This funding opportunity targets communities beginning to address their brownfield challenges or those with ongoing efforts to bring sites into productive reuse. Eligible applicants include local governments, government entities, Tribes, and certain nonprofit organizations. Applications are due by November 14, 2024 and must be submitted through Grants.gov.
The EPA anticipates awarding approximately 92 Community-wide Assessment Grants ranging from $300,000 to $500,000 per grant, for a total of $46 million. The grants have a 4-year period of performance and are funded under the Brownfields Multipurpose, Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Cooperative Agreements program (CFDA 66.818). The funded activities must take place within the United States.
