About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Public Health Service is seeking grant applications for the FY25 Ensuring Research Integrity - Research on Research Integrity (RRI) program. The grant aims to support projects that foster empirical research on factors affecting research integrity, with a specific focus on identifying root causes of research misconduct in biomedical and behavioral research. Eligible applicants must propose projects that advance understanding of ethical research practices, develop innovative tools, and create resources that promote responsible conduct of research in compliance with 42 C.F.R. Part 93. Applications will be evaluated by an independent review panel of experts who will assess proposals based on specific criteria outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), with a focus on the project's potential to produce tangible outcomes related to research integrity. The grant opportunity has a submission deadline of July 30, 2025, and applications must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov, with applicants requiring a valid SAM.gov registration prior to submission.
Typical award values for this grant program range from $40,000 to $750,000, with project durations typically spanning one to two years. The Office of Research Integrity anticipates making awards under the authority of 42 U.S.C. 241 Section 301 of the Public Health Service Act, with support recommended for a performance period not exceeding five years. Awards will generally be made in 12-month budget periods, subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and government interests. Funded organizations will receive a Notice of Award and be assigned a project officer from the program office and a Grants Management Specialist. The ultimate goal is to support projects that can be disseminated freely to the Public Health Service-funded research community and contribute to improving research integrity practices.
